SELF-closer and Damper kits
Portman self closing and self closing/damper assemblies are unique. Doors can be held back within the cassette and when gently nudged by the user will self close.
The damper options or “soft-close” units catch the door in the last few centimetres and gently pull it into the fully closed position thus avoiding slamming which alleviates stress on the surrounding doorframe and helps prevent finger traps.
Closer/damper kits are suitable for timber/framed door leaves of up to 40kg or 80kg and 1450mm wide.

POWERED Opening/Closing and locking
Being able to have the door slide open and closed (and lock if necessary) at the push of a button is exceptionally user friendly and offers huge potential benefits, especially when considering, for example, accessible WCs and inclusive design in general. The Portman powered unit is concealed at the head of the door, is low voltage and has been tested to over 200,000 cycles.
- Fully automated system for use with single leaf Portman kits (not flush bracketed options)

- 1/3rd speed on final opening/closing approaches
- PSU/Programmer can be located remotely in a convenient position
- Motor can be easily removed for maintenance
Notes:
If the outside button is pushed whilst the door is open, the door closes but remains unlocked
If the door encounters obstruction during closing, it stops and auto reverses to the fully open position
An external key/break glass emergency access can be accommodated
If there’s a power cut the system is disabled and the door can be pulled open manually
Typical logic for system
Outside: Push button, door opens.
Inside: Push button, door closes and locks on electromagnetic lock (if specified) and outside button is disabled.
Inside: Push button door unlocks and opens. After 10mins of inactivity, door closes.
